The Woodstock Music and Art Fair was a historic event held at Max Yasgur's 600 acre dairy farm in the rural town of Bethel, New York from August 15 to August 18, 1969.To many, the festival exemplified the counterculture of the 1960s and the 'hippie era'. Thirty-two of the best-known musicians of the day appeared during the sometimes rainy weekend. Although attempts have been made over the years to recreate the festival, the original event has proven to be unique and legendary. It is widely regarded as one of the greatest moments in music history and was listed on Rolling Stone's 50 Moments That Changed the History of Rock and Roll. The event was captured in a successful 1970 documentary, Woodstock (subtitled '3 Days of Peace & Music'), directed by Michael Wadleigh.Part 9.Sunday, August 17 to Monday, August 18. English rock/blues singer Joe Cocker was the first act on the last officially booked day; he opened up the day's events at 2PM. His set was preceded by at least two unidentified instrumentals by The Grease Band. Cocker's last song was a cover of 'With a Little Help from My Friends' by The Beatles from their 1967 album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.__________________________________With a Little Help from My FriendsWhat would do think if I sang out of tune,Would you stand up and walk out on me.Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song,And I'll try not to sing out of key.Oh I get by with a little help from my friends,He gets high with a little help from his friends,Oh I'm gonna try with a little help from my friends. What do I do when my love is away.(Does it worry you to be alone)How do I feel by the end of the day(Are you sad because you're on your own)No, I get by with a little help from my friends,Mmm I get high with a little help from my friends,Mmm I'm gonna to try with a little help from my friendsDo you need anybody?I need somebody to love.Could it be anybody?I want somebody to love.Would you believe in a love at first sight?Yes I'm certain that it happens all the time. What do you see when you turn out the light?I can't tell you, but I know it's mine.Oh I get by with a little help from my friends,Mmm I get high with a little help from my friends,Oh I'm gonna try with a little help from my friendsDo you need anybody?I need someone to love.Could it be anybody?I want somebody to loveOh... 6/1/07, Champlain Valley Fairgrounds: The Marlboro Man cannot hold a candle to the elite group of Air Cowboys that travel around the world flying balloons at various festivals and gatherings. After all, can the Marlboro Man float 4,000 feet in the air and land wherever the current takes him? These single-minded cowboys are obsessed with flight. From the first time they went up in a hot air balloon, they knew there was no other life for them. The Fourth Annual Vermont Balloon and Music Festival took place June 1-3, 2007. There was hot-air ballooning, family entertainment and carnival fun at Champlain Valley Exposition in Essex Junction. The Festival features up to 40 colorful sport balloons and special-shaped balloons from across the region and country. I went up in a Press Balloon Flight early Friday morning. It was my first time and I was petrified. My pilot was Art Voltaire (I kid you not) Moller from Albuquerque New Mexico. Four of us spent 2 hours in a tiny wicker basket floating through VT wilderness, mountains and forests, losing all sense of direction. You don't know where you are landing when you go ballooning. The wind takes you where it pleases. You can only control your up and down. We landed in Willow Hill Farm in Milton and luckily, the farmer was nice enough to let us park there. The landing was bumpy and we had to sit in the balloon basket waiting for our ride to get there - the wind pulling and tugging at our still-aloft parachute. As scared as I am of heights, it was invigorating. Even if I did have this creepy sensation that I could have jumped out at any point and plummeted to my death. Maybe next time. For now, I am just glad my camera didn't fall on its head.Featured:http://cvexpo.org/VTBalloon.aspxMusic: cccome? Japan's fascination with figure skating has amazed me for some time. In my blog I once mentioned their enthusiasm for Flamenco. Iceskating is another national pride they have been investing in. Prominent athletes have been enjoying a high social status. Surely, advertisements seem to go well with these national heroes and heroines.Tokyo is now hosting the World Iceskating Championship. Thousands of people flock to the indoor ice stadium to watch several young skaters from some four season countries. Teens would throw roses and Teddy Bears after each perfomance. The whole country is suddenly warmer in the remaining wintry season as each skater slides on the thick ice layer accompanied by the best of world musical compositions.Takahashi Daisuke is one of Japan's treasures. Dubbed as the Prince of Japan, he won the silver medal two days ago (March 24)in the prestigious event. Like a true Samurai, he pushed his rank up from fifth to second next to a French skater (You can see in the clip the audience cyring as Takahashi, now emotional himself, finished his memorable perfomance). With the standing ovation and the cry subarashii (great!), he is the first Japanese male ever to have won such a distinction.Using my cell phone, I recorded his live performance from our TV!Post Script*The shouts in the background came from my wife*Thanks to Susan, my friend from Indonesia, who for a while was my consultant in YouTube stuff.

Pantera was an American heavy metal band from Arlington, Texas, that formed in 1981.[1] Although initially influenced by 1980s glam metal/hard rock bands, thrash metal acts such as Slayer and Metallica as well as traditional metal bands such as Black Sabbath would prove to be influential in the band's significant change in musical direction at the end of the 1980s. From there, Pantera became a key formulator of the groove metal (post-thrash) subgenre of heavy metal music. It would not be until nine years after forming that Pantera saw its first piece of commercial success in its major label debut, Cowboys from Hell. From there, Pantera became one of the most celebrated heavy metal bands of the 1990s. Despite the generally cold reception of the band's first four albums, critics have lauded Pantera's style thereafter; Jason Birchmeier of the All Music Guide considers Pantera to be "arguably the greatest metal band of '90s and ... one of the greatest and most influential metal bands ever."[2] The band has received accolades such as ranking 45 on VH1's list of the 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock[3] and fifth on MTV's "Top 10 Greatest Heavy Metal Bands of All-Time".[4]Due to long-standing internal conflicts, Pantera dissolved in 2003. The following year, the band's guitarist, "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, was shot and killed on-stage while performing with his new band, Damageplan.Philip Hansen Anselmo (born June 30, 1968 in New Orleans, Louisiana) is a heavy metal vocalist and musician, currently performing with Down. He is best known as a vocalist, lyricist and co-composer for Pantera, but has been involved with numerous other musical projects in heavy metal.Rex Robert Brown (born July 27, 1964 in Graham, Texas) is a bassist, best known for his work with the American heavy metal band Pantera from the time the band formed in the early 80's until its dissolution in 2003. Along with former Pantera vocalist Phil Anselmo, he subsequently joined Down to replace bassist Todd Strange, and most recently played bass on the Crowbar album, Lifesblood for the Downtrodden. During the early days of Pantera Rex Brown went by the stage name Rex Rocker. It wasn't until Far Beyond Driven that both Rex Brown and Dimebag Darrell changed their stage names. Rex dropped Rex Rocker and was just credited from then on as Rex Brown and Diamond Darell was changed to Dimebag Darrell.Vinnie Paul (Vincent Paul Abbott) (born on March 11, 1964), in Dallas, Texas, United States is a heavy metal drummer and producer most known for his work in Pantera and Damageplan.Paul also incorporates elements of progressive rock and swing into his drumming. [citation needed]Paul is the son of Carolina Abbot and Jerry Abbott, a country music songwriter and producer. He played in Pantera, Tres Diablos, Damageplan, and Rebel Meets Rebel with his brother, late guitarist Dimebag Darrell. His professional musical relationship with his brother often earned them comparisons to hard rock musicians Eddie and Alex Van Halen. Currently, Paul, along with members from Mudvayne and Nothingface, have formed the supergroup - Hellyeah. His biggest influence is Peter Criss of KISSDimebag Darrell (born Darrell Lance Abbott on August 20, 1966, Arlington, Texas -- December 8, 2004, Columbus, Ohio), also known as Diamond Darrell until mid 1992, was the lead guitarist for the heavy metal bands Pantera, Damageplan and Rebel Meets Rebel.

Thought I would upload a little more footage from The Movie Waterloo concerning The Duchess of Richmond's Ball of 15-06-1815It appears no You Tuber has an inkling as to the pieces played at Her Grace's Ball ?Below is a cut & paste from an earlier video regarding this matter : -This footage comes from the very historically accurate "Waterloo." {Although there is the odd historical blemish, it is still highly factual} The question is what is the piece called as the Ladies & Officers Etc. danced the night away at The Duchess of Richmond's Ball ?I may say it myself, but one does feel a bit of an expert in the finery of Battle Tactics regarding Waterloo, but can not place this wonderful piece, I even asked on Talk Back Radio a number of years ago after playing it down the line, but alas no following callers knew, as for any other goings ons at Her Grace's Ball that night, one should not take as read certain accounts, although I would fancy they would not be too far from what went on. It is the outcome of The Battle that changed European & indeed World History that interests an old reprobate such as I Lol. But one would give anything to have been a lad at that Ball on that night....dancing the night away before battle, those were the days !

Remember that country-wide hangover in the mid-90's that was Shaq Fever? Well, just call this a tribute to that kind of thinking.NOTE: I apologize for the bad voice-overs in parts of the review. I overestimated the volume needed (due to a few people complaining that they still couldn't hear my voice in parts) and it created a good amount of distortion.NOTE: You may be wondering how I got the review out a few days after I released the trailer. Simple: I was almost done with the review in the first place when I created the trailer.*Music and video credits to come later*
