Kylie Ann Minogue [born May 28th 1968 in Melbourne, Australia] is a Brit and Grammy award-winning Australian pop singer-songwriter and actress. Minogue rose to prominence in the late 1980s through her role in the Australian television soap opera Neighbours, before she commenced her career as a pop artist in the late '80s. Signed to a contract by British songwriters and producers Stock, Aitken and Waterman in 1988, she achieved a string of hit records throughout the world. Her popularity began to decline during the early 1990s, leading her to part company from Stock, Aitken and Waterman in 1992. During the mid to late 90s, Minogue distanced herself from her earlier work and attempted to establish herself as a credible and independent performer and songwriter. Her projects were widely publicised, but her albums failed to attract a substantial audience and resulted in the lowest sales of her career to date. She returned to popularity as a dance--pop artist in 2000, and became well-known for her provocative music videos and expensively mounted stage shows. Minogue has established one of the longest and most successful careers as a performer in contemporary pop music, and in Europe and Australia, she has become one of her generation's most recognisable celebrities and sex symbols. In Australia, after being dismissed early in her career by some critics, she has been acclaimed for her achievements. According to Warner Music Australia, Minogue has sold over 40 million records worldwide.

Incredible video of the Late Great Hank Williams and His Son Bocephus (Hank Jr) A few years ago Hank was given this song in his Dad's folders, a song that was still in a demo stage. Hank liked it and mixed alittle of his style with his Dads and helped in producing this magical, award winning video!!!According to Wikpedia:"There's a Tear in My Beer", a duet with his father created using electronic dubbing techniques. The song itself was written by his father, presumably, sometime between 1950 and 1953 and was recorded with Hank Williams playing just his guitar. The music video for the song combined existing television footage of Hank Williams performing and the dubbing techniques transferred the image of Hank Jr. onto the screen, so it appeared as if he were actually playing with his father. The video was an overwhelming success, both critically and commercially. It was named Video Of The Year by both the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country music. Hank Williams, Jr. would go on to win a Grammy award in 1990 for Best Country Vocal Collaboration.___________________Thanks go to ritchey65 for the following info:Hank Sr. recorded this song as a demo on an acetate disc for country performer Big Bill Lister and gave it to him around 1950. It lay forgotten and unknown until Lister's son found it in 1988.He gave it to Hank Jr, who recorded his own version and mixed it with the Hank Sr. version. The Lyrics, Video, Audio, are the property of the respective authors, artists and labels, the video provided for educational and Artist promotional purposes only , If you like the song, please help support Elvis Presley's music by purchasing his CD's wherever they are legally for sale..Rhodescabbin claims no ownership rights to this Video/Audio. Over 100 Dionne Warwick videos on Dibotis's Dionne Warwick Channel! Dionne Warwick was planning to quit the music industry entirely after her tenure ended in 1977 for Warner Brothers Records and use her music education to teach on the University level. In 1978, Clive Davis, legendary producer and head of Arista Records told Dionne "You may be ready to give up the music business, but the business is not ready to give you up." She would soon sign with Arista and would enjoy one of the biggest comebacks in the history of popular music. In 1979, I'll Never Love This Way Again", a huge international hit, ended Dionne Warwick's five year dry spell in the most spectacular fashion. The tune peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100, #6 in Canada and #13 on the Billboard Magazine R&B Chart. The tune won Warwick a 1980 Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, and the tune Déjà Vu won for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, the first female vocalist to win in both categories in the same year. The tune received the RIAA Gold Award for sales of over 1 million copies and her Arista debut album, Dionne, reveived the RIAA Platinum Award for album sales of over 1 million copies. Cheryl Ladd had previously recorded this Richard Kerr-Will Jennings composed song as "I Know I'll Never Love This Way Again" in 1978, and Clive felt that Dionne could turn it into a blockbuster hit. Clive paired Dionne with producer Barry Manilow with one proviso on the project: they had to record "I'll Never Love This Way Again". Dionne love the tune but initially expressed reservations to Clive about working with Manilow, not because she didn't love Barry's music, her reservation was based upon his unique sound and Dionne stated she didn't want to become Dionne Manilow. The minute Dionne and Barry rehearsed together, the magic struck and Dionne was completely at ease. The album Dionne was critically acclaimed and Dionne was praised for her virtuosity. A bit of trivia: Dionne completed her Masters Degree from the Hartt College of Music and in 1989 she completed her studies at Hartt leading to a doctorate in Music Education. Dr. Dionne Warwick did a series of lectures on popular music in the 1990s at Harvard and several other Universities in the USA. Dionne is one of a few stars to hold a real Doctorate. Dionne's doctorate was earned, not by honorary bestowal, but by completing the requisite course work.

Gold Medal for ExcellenceAudience Choice for Best Music Documentary2006 PARK CITY FILM MUSIC FESTIVALGOTTA SERVE SOMEBODY:THE GOSPEL SONGS OF BOB DYLANhttp://www.gottaservesomebody.comhttp://dylangospel.blogspot.com/The best African-American covers of Dylan songs since Jimi Hendrix. --International Herald Tribune"This DVD overflows with interest, and, more importantly, with music." -Michael Gray, author of The Bob Dylan Encyclopedia and Song & Dance Man III: The Art of Bob Dylan.Interviews with Dylan musicians: Jim Keltner, Spooner Oldham, Regina McCrary, Fred Tackett, Terry Young, Mona Lisa Young, and producer Jerry WexlerParticipating artists: Bob Dylan, Shirley Caesar, Chicago Mass Choir, Dottie Peoples, Aaron Neville, Sounds of Blackness, Helen Baylor, The Fairfield Four, Great Day Chorale, Arlethia Lindsey, Mighty Clouds of Joy, and Rance Allen.Commentary by: Paul Williams and Alan LightThis musical documentary premieres 1980 footage of Bob Dylan performing "When He Returns," the first archival performance released from this important era.Amazon.com Editorial ReviewGotta Serve Somebody - The Gospel Songs of Bob Dylan is all about redemption. That's apparent enough in the music, where the struggle between sin and salvation is inherent in the tunes that are interpreted here by a host of superb gospel artists. But in a larger sense, the very existence of this DVD (and the Grammy-nominated CD that preceded it in 2003) can be viewed as redemption for Dylan himself, who weathered another controversy and emerged, if not triumphant, then certainly vindicated. When he plugged in an electric guitar in 1965, he was labeled "Judas" by the folkie faithful; ironically, when he turned to Jesus some 15 years later, proclaiming himself born again and releasing Slow Train Coming and Saved, the outcry was even louder. But once again Dylan has the last laugh, as now, a quarter of a century after the fact, it's clear that the material on those recordings was his strongest not only since 1975's Blood on the Tracks but perhaps since his '60s heyday. The quality of the songs lies in what Jerry Wexler, co-producer of the two Dylan albums, describes as the "immaculate funk" of the music, and especially in the heartfelt simplicity (especially by Dylan standards) and emotional directness of the lyrics; clearly, that's what attracted great gospel singers like Shirley Caesar (singing "Gotta Serve Somebody," the most recognized song on the two Dylan albums), Dottie Peoples (a powerful version of the beautiful "I Believe in You"), the Mighty Clouds of Joy (a rockin', sanctified "Saved"), the Fairfield Four (the stirring, a cappella "Are You Ready"), and the angel-voiced Aaron Neville ("Saving Grace") to this project. We also get Dylan himself, performing "When He Returns" at a 1980 concert, along with an animated rendering of his original "Gotta Serve Somebody." Hallelujah, y'all. --Sam GrahamBob Dylan's Gospel songs, widely reviled when new, have steadily grown in stature and acceptance over the years. Here in the hands of Gospel greats, likely the folks best suited to do them, they come up stronger than ever. Strong recommendation. Much better and more gripping than I expected. -Sing Out!Directed by Michael B BorofskyEdited by Christine MitsogiorgakisJeffrey Gaskill Executive ProducerFeatured Performances:Every Grain of Sand (Arlethia Lindsey)When He Returns (Bob Dylan)Solid Rock (Sounds of Blackness)Gotta Serve Somebody (Shirley Caesar)I Believe In You (Dottie Peoples)Saving Grace (Aaron Neville)What Can I Do For You?
