my music store: http://www.ronaldjenkees.com/music-store**this tune will be on my next CD - I came up with this jam recently so I don't have it available yet. thanks for all the emails and interest in it! can't wait til it's done (hopefully late summer of 2008 - no hard date yet).just havin some fun with a guitar sound on the Motif XS8. The patch I'm playing with is called Hard Ramp AS1&2. I made the background beat using FL Studio.PS. I've read some reviews of this vid as if I'm trying to be a "keytar" player (apparently not a desirable thing, but how can you not like Edgar Winter's "Frankenstein") and that I should just play a real guitar. LOL @ some of those same people who probably play guitar hero (nothing against it but hopefully you see my point)! The irony! The point is, folks, if you find a fun/inspiring sound to jam with, by all means, you should JAM WITH IT! I don't care if you find a $3.00 plastic trumpet. Don't worry about the technicalities and what people say. In the long run it's about the fun that YOU have making music. Thanks for watching!!!

Dionne Warwick's Love at First Sight, a 1977 album released on the Warner Brothers Label introduced the hauntingly beautiful and introspective Peter Larson / Josh Rubins tune "Since You Stayed Here," which was used in their 1985 off-Braodway play "Brownstone". The tune was one of several strong tunes on the album. With the release of this album, Dionne completed her contractual obligation to Warner Brothers Records. It is ironic that mega superstar Dionne, when she signed with Warner five years before for the largest contract ever given a female singer, had been named for the fourth year in a row the top female singer in several national polls. By the time Dionne finished her tenure at Warner Brothers, her recording career had stagnated and was virtually without hits with the exception of 1974's # 1 Then Came You, although she remained a popular television star and a huge concert draw throughout the world. Dionne Warwick was planning to quit the music industry entirely and use her music education skills to teach on the university level. Dionne had completed her Masters Degree from the Hartt College of Music and in 1989 she completed her studies at Hartt which led to a doctorate in Music Education. Dr. Dionne Warwick did a series of lectures on popular music in the 1990s at Harvard and several other Universities in the USA. In 1978, Clive Davis told Dionne "You may be ready to give up the music business, but the business is not ready to give you up." She would soon sign with Davis' Arista Records and would enjoy one of the biggest comebacks in the history of popular music.Bette Midler recorded a cover version of the tune in 1990.

Gold Medal for ExcellenceAudience Choice for Best Music Documentary2006 PARK CITY FILM MUSIC FESTIVALGOTTA SERVE SOMEBODY:THE GOSPEL SONGS OF BOB DYLANhttp://www.gottaservesomebody.comhttp://dylangospel.blogspot.com/The best African-American covers of Dylan songs since Jimi Hendrix. --International Herald Tribune"This DVD overflows with interest, and, more importantly, with music." -Michael Gray, author of The Bob Dylan Encyclopedia and Song & Dance Man III: The Art of Bob Dylan.Interviews with Dylan musicians: Jim Keltner, Spooner Oldham, Regina McCrary, Fred Tackett, Terry Young, Mona Lisa Young, and producer Jerry WexlerParticipating artists: Bob Dylan, Shirley Caesar, Chicago Mass Choir, Dottie Peoples, Aaron Neville, Sounds of Blackness, Helen Baylor, The Fairfield Four, Great Day Chorale, Arlethia Lindsey, Mighty Clouds of Joy, and Rance Allen.Commentary by: Paul Williams and Alan LightThis musical documentary premieres 1980 footage of Bob Dylan performing "When He Returns," the first archival performance released from this important era.Amazon.com Editorial ReviewGotta Serve Somebody - The Gospel Songs of Bob Dylan is all about redemption. That's apparent enough in the music, where the struggle between sin and salvation is inherent in the tunes that are interpreted here by a host of superb gospel artists. But in a larger sense, the very existence of this DVD (and the Grammy-nominated CD that preceded it in 2003) can be viewed as redemption for Dylan himself, who weathered another controversy and emerged, if not triumphant, then certainly vindicated. When he plugged in an electric guitar in 1965, he was labeled "Judas" by the folkie faithful; ironically, when he turned to Jesus some 15 years later, proclaiming himself born again and releasing Slow Train Coming and Saved, the outcry was even louder. But once again Dylan has the last laugh, as now, a quarter of a century after the fact, it's clear that the material on those recordings was his strongest not only since 1975's Blood on the Tracks but perhaps since his '60s heyday. The quality of the songs lies in what Jerry Wexler, co-producer of the two Dylan albums, describes as the "immaculate funk" of the music, and especially in the heartfelt simplicity (especially by Dylan standards) and emotional directness of the lyrics; clearly, that's what attracted great gospel singers like Shirley Caesar (singing "Gotta Serve Somebody," the most recognized song on the two Dylan albums), Dottie Peoples (a powerful version of the beautiful "I Believe in You"), the Mighty Clouds of Joy (a rockin', sanctified "Saved"), the Fairfield Four (the stirring, a cappella "Are You Ready"), and the angel-voiced Aaron Neville ("Saving Grace") to this project. We also get Dylan himself, performing "When He Returns" at a 1980 concert, along with an animated rendering of his original "Gotta Serve Somebody." Hallelujah, y'all. --Sam GrahamBob Dylan's Gospel songs, widely reviled when new, have steadily grown in stature and acceptance over the years. Here in the hands of Gospel greats, likely the folks best suited to do them, they come up stronger than ever. Strong recommendation. Much better and more gripping than I expected. -Sing Out!Directed by Michael B BorofskyEdited by Christine MitsogiorgakisJeffrey Gaskill Executive ProducerFeatured Performances:Every Grain of Sand (Arlethia Lindsey)When He Returns (Bob Dylan)Solid Rock (Sounds of Blackness)Gotta Serve Somebody (Shirley Caesar)I Believe In You (Dottie Peoples)Saving Grace (Aaron Neville)What Can I Do For You? SOO many mistakes. (why am i not surprised -.-)they really should get their facts right first o.oBrief translations:Korean 2007 MKMF has finally come to an end.Despite controversy about the fairness of the event because of DBSK and Boa's unattendance, the stadium was still full. Each and every performer had put their best efforts into their performances.Renowned MC Shin Dongyup and Lee Dahae from My Girl co-MCed for this event.blah blah blah..Super Junior became this year's big winner bagging THREE awards (here they say four.. and included the Best Male Group -.- but we all know that Big Bang got that) Netizen Award, Popular Mobile Song and Singer of the Year. The Best Female Group award went to Seeya. However, they were unable to attend the festival so SG Wannabe's Kim Yong Jun received the award on behalf of them. Best Male Singer went to Lee Seung Ki but winner of the Best Female Singer, Ivy, was unable to attend to recieve her award because of recent scandals?..Younha received the New Solo Artist. Her song "Password 486" also topped the Karaoke Charts of 2007.Best New Boyband went to F.T. Island. The award was also given to them by previous year's winner, Super Junior. With their popular song "Tell Me"(i thought it was IRONY), Wonder Girls won the Best New Girlband. With the song "Lie", Big Bang(the spelled Big Band -.-) won the Song of the Year (and Best Male Group!!).Epik High were the winners for the Best Hip Hop Group of the Year.CSJH The Grace were the winners of the Best Dance Music with their song, "One More Time, OK". However, this award caused a bit of a conflict as Shinhwa's member Lee Minwoo's online votes positioned him in first place but the award was given to CSJH in the end. As a result, Lee Minwoo did not attend the festival.Eventhough it was like that, the event invited Gackt as a performing guest uplifting the whole mood.sorry if there are any weird translations.. i realized it's really hard to translate -.-[proper credits please :)]
