The Woodstock Music and Art Fair was a historic event held at Max Yasgur's 600 acre dairy farm in the rural town of Bethel, New York from August 15 to August 18, 1969.To many, the festival exemplified the counterculture of the 1960s and the 'hippie era'. Thirty-two of the best-known musicians of the day appeared during the sometimes rainy weekend. Although attempts have been made over the years to recreate the festival, the original event has proven to be unique and legendary. It is widely regarded as one of the greatest moments in music history and was listed on Rolling Stone's 50 Moments That Changed the History of Rock and Roll. The event was captured in a successful 1970 documentary, Woodstock (subtitled '3 Days of Peace & Music'), directed by Michael Wadleigh._______________________Part 11. Yep, it's another one of those "tagged" videos! You get tagged, you make a video with 5 facts about yourself and tag 5 others...the chain continues! To my knowledge, I was tagged by the following people: LazyWorkCreations, Quadraxis14 and RE4lover, all cool people. I hope I didn't leave anybody out! So now I'm tagging (randomly and in no particular order) animelonewolf, chocobosoliddiegui, Livinglifex, Dragonheart999, and TheTNC420, also all cool people. Just got my laptop working again a few weeks ago thanks to my friend Andrew (THANK YOU!), and I just found out about this tag thing, so here it is! I hope it isn't too boring because I'm planning to put out my first (and last?) Q&A/FAQ video very soon to see how it goes. I'm getting started on a new video game review that I hope to have out ASAP! Just wanted to let everyone know I'm not dead, and I have no plans to stop! Thank you for watching! Track credits (track, then artist) are as follows: Opening track by me (myspace.com/destructure047), Zero Wing intro (obviously), hidden track on "Classixxx" by Bogdan Raczynski, "Trailer Music" Pizzicato 5 remix by 808 State, 3 tracks by me, Metroid intro, Kid Icarus underworld, "Sayonara Tsutara" by Bogdan Raczynski, "Untitled13" off of "Boku Mo Wakaran" by Bogdan Raczynski. Go to http://www.panonthenet.com/classics/pan_rebels.htm for the full performance of this selection - "In My House" - as arranged by Len 'Boogsie' Sharpe. In the late 80's a group of young, innovative, progressive, talented and rebellious steelpan musicians known as Pan Rebels left their mark on New York pan as no other has. In many respects Pan Rebels' birth signalled the dawning of the new and current age in the New York pan music continuum. Pan In New York was going to become primarily a youth movement. New ideas, interest and people would become critical components of the New York pan scene. And Pan Rebels was always at the forefront - trying new things although they are not always the ones who received the credit when it became popular. It is not surprising that Pan Rebels started the now-famous New York J'Ouvert celebrations.Simultaneously, a young group of New York electrical and broadcasting engineers known as Basement Recordings were also experimenting and working closely with Yamaha Corporation of America - who recognized their brilliance immediately - to fine tune its digital recording technology. Yamaha provided Basement Recordings with one of it's then-unreleased 24-bit digital recorders to test and make recommendations. The unit was then known as the DMR8 which would become the corner stone on which all future Yamaha digital recordings technology would be based. As faith or luck would have it, many of the engineers at Basement Recordings were also pan musicians. Even before the introduction of the DMR8, Basement Recordings was light years ahead of any other group or production team in terms of producing quality steelband recordings. Since the mid-80's they had already developed a technique they label as the 'box and one' specifically for the steel orchestra. It received rave reviews and write ups in many of the broadcasting and professional audio journals. Now armed with this digital recording goliath - that was in many ways way ahead of its time - Basement now had the tools to capture the full dynamic range of the steel orchestra without compromise. Moreover they were committed to producing outstanding recordings that could stand next to any great music productions regardless of genre - and showcase the greatness of the 'Boogsies' and 'Bradleys,' with any of their contemporaries. In Pan Rebels - Basement Recordings found kindred sprits - young musicians who were not tied to conventionality - furthermore they were not afraid of the presence of technology. Add the great Len "Boogsie" Sharpe, the ultimate unconventional arranger and what you got was magic. Basement Recordings always looked forward to recording Pan Rebels steel orchestra. They were young people; they understood the power and importance of recording and immortalizing their music works/material. As a matter of fact the band's management viewed Basement's recording them as a critical part of their panorama season. World-renowned arranger Len 'Boogsie' Sharpe was perfect as he supported, encouraged and understood what Basement and Pan Rebels were undertaking. Interestingly enough Basement's and Len 'Boogsie' Sharpe's paths would cross many times in other professional arenas in the future - of particular note would be their coming together with legendary master drummer Max Roach on future recording projects. The Pan Rebels - Basement Recordings collaborations produced many recording gems that featured prominent arrangers like Garvin Blake and Pelham Goddard in addition to Len 'Boogsie' Sharpe. Even though the orchestra has been inactive since 2002 - with their musical works and contributions to the New York Steelband music scene, while spearheaded by the dynamic trio of Anthony 'Pra' Trebuse, Gary Rogers and Michelle Williams - Pan Rebels remains a New York steelband fixture.

Movies to Video Games ReviewsReview #14Lemony Snicket's: A Series of Unfortunate Events for the Personal Computer (PC) is fully reviewed and analyzed as compared to the actual movie itself.Feel free to comment. More movies to video games reviews coming soon.. suggestions and feedback welcome and encouraged. In the means of saving space the score tallies used to get to the final score are listed here instead of in the review itself. They are on a 1-10 scale with 10 being the best score possible:Story Accuracy to the Movie 5.0(The characters and locations are there, but after that the situations become stretched and barely resembling what was seen in the movie. The cutscenes tie it all together but if it weren't for that you would have no idea how it relates to the film due to what we are doing for most of the game.)Music Soundtrack Accuracy to the Movie's 1.0(As is often the case in recent movie adaptations, the music is generic and not based off of the movies soundtrack. I don't think it matters too much but it may have added something that just was lacking in this game for the most part)Game Difficulty 4.5(The game is way too easy. Click and point with a search button that finds everything for you easily. The bosses are a joke as are the levels which are all the same thing done slightly different. There is very little challenge found here.)Overall Fun 3.0(The game gets boring and old fast. After two or three levels you will get the idea of what the game has to offer and its more of the same for the rest of the way through. The game ends too quickly and you don't feel like it's the movie or book jumping out at you at any point. Probably won't be replaying this too much after its completed.)Final Score: 4.25Below Average

Based in Los Angeles, The Lian Ensemble (http://www.lianrecords.com) is a group of virtuoso performers and composers. Their powerful compositions fuse the Mystical Persian musical heritage with the contemporary sensibilities of postmodern Jazz. Combining a unique musical vision with dauntless dedication to experimentation, they create a synthesis of mystical world music composed of traditional and folk melodies and instruments. Their "Brilliance " has been praised by John Schneider of KPFK radio. The Lian is comprised of world-renowned musicians whose diverse and uniquely versatile musical styles lend to this rare blend of Mystical world music. Lian's music flows effortlessly between a diverse range of styles and traditions, while fearlessly forging a path and sound that is all their own. Los Angeles Times writes, "The Lian Ensemble's music-original compositions written and improvised in class on its own terms". After much collaboration, the musicians have acquired the requisite knowledge of Persian music, and each adds their own distinctive rhythmic sounds to compositions, creating an exciting mix of melodies that go beyond the stylistic boundaries. In performance, Lian's ever evolving repertoire of creative original music is expanded, rearranged, and examined with exploratory eyes at each and every concert. Los Angeles Times (Don Heckman) writes," Lian ensemble is a gifted group with completive compositions and virtuosic performances".

http://manhopark.deviantart.comBio: I am currently enrolled in school going for a bachelor's degree in game development.I love drawing so please do not hesitate to take a look at my deviant art page above! Yes, I do love piano, but I will not post any more videos. I know if I post poor quality videos, many people will start bashing away with criticism. So there is no more reason to put any more recordings up. However this does not mean I have quit playing piano, I still play once in awhile for my own enjoyment. The thing is I have not quit yet =]Note from author: There's one reason why I continue to play piano and that is to enjoy myself. Yes, I know that sounds a tad rash, but hey its the truth. The point is I am not a professional. Of course I take some criticism seriously but not now for that I am busy with many other things =]--------------------------------------------Stop with the racism. My skills have nothing to do with race, rather, daily habits. Matter in fact, I can base it on several factors on how I allocate my time.1. I am currently jobless2. I do not have a gf3. I rarely go out to play with other people4. I focus strictly on developing my talents5. My life is often the internet6. That is what makes me happy. Now, that I have went over my life, I hope you all can agree that I am some psychotic human being that is rampant on the internet. Once again it has nothing to do with race^^.

Over 100 Dionne Warwick videos on Dibotis's Dionne Warwick Channel! Dionne Warwick was planning to quit the music industry entirely after her tenure ended in 1977 for Warner Brothers Records and use her music education to teach on the University level. In 1978, Clive Davis, legendary producer and head of Arista Records told Dionne "You may be ready to give up the music business, but the business is not ready to give you up." She would soon sign with Arista and would enjoy one of the biggest comebacks in the history of popular music. In 1979, I'll Never Love This Way Again", a huge international hit, ended Dionne Warwick's five year dry spell in the most spectacular fashion. The tune peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100, #6 in Canada and #13 on the Billboard Magazine R&B Chart. The tune won Warwick a 1980 Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, and the tune Déjà Vu won for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, the first female vocalist to win in both categories in the same year. The tune received the RIAA Gold Award for sales of over 1 million copies and her Arista debut album, Dionne, reveived the RIAA Platinum Award for album sales of over 1 million copies. Cheryl Ladd had previously recorded this Richard Kerr-Will Jennings composed song as "I Know I'll Never Love This Way Again" in 1978, and Clive felt that Dionne could turn it into a blockbuster hit. Clive paired Dionne with producer Barry Manilow with one proviso on the project: they had to record "I'll Never Love This Way Again". Dionne love the tune but initially expressed reservations to Clive about working with Manilow, not because she didn't love Barry's music, her reservation was based upon his unique sound and Dionne stated she didn't want to become Dionne Manilow. The minute Dionne and Barry rehearsed together, the magic struck and Dionne was completely at ease. The album Dionne was critically acclaimed and Dionne was praised for her virtuosity. A bit of trivia: Dionne completed her Masters Degree from the Hartt College of Music and in 1989 she completed her studies at Hartt leading to a doctorate in Music Education. Dr. Dionne Warwick did a series of lectures on popular music in the 1990s at Harvard and several other Universities in the USA. Dionne is one of a few stars to hold a real Doctorate. Dionne's doctorate was earned, not by honorary bestowal, but by completing the requisite course work.
