London: Sep 19. Earls Court. Vodafone Live Music Awards 2007.Had a great shooting position thanks to getting bounced out of the O2 Mobos. Thought we'd try our luck at Earls Court. Freezing day - summer's over - and only 4 hours wait till the action began. Lots of Brit slebs, many of whom were good enough to pop over and commune with the fanpod. All over by six for us, then back to the Colonel for a post gig round-up and greasefest.Who we saw...StereophonicsLil ChrisMichelle Heaton (Liberty X)Rachel StevensLisa SnowdonJimmy CarrTara ReidSyd and Michelle (sling)Holly WilloughbyLouise RedknappGail PorterAshleyBoys from In The Hands of the GodsShane Jacobson "Kenny"Avid Merriam (Bo Selecta)Nicky GrahamOrsonCalvin HarrisKate NashDebby HarryCSS (Brazillian Band)As usual, please let me know of errors, omissions and comments. here is a bit of footage of people dancing to folk music from the new year's eve/day celebrations in kyiv in 2005. the first minute actually is footage of people dancing not to folk music but to some folk-pop, and their dancing isn't traditional. however, the last few minutes provide some fabulous footage of mostly middle- to senior-aged people singing along with and/or doing real folk dancing to musicians playing on the street. where are all the young people? do they no longer want to remember their folk dances?another note: this is from new year's 2005. the orange revolution had just succeeded in overturning the fraudulent elections and there was great hope that much would change with yushchenko as president. i mention this as a reminder of the work that is still yet to be done in ukraine. to see more footage of events on new year's eve and day 2005, go to my blog at http://dykun.blogspot.com/2007/01/new-year-eve-2005-in-kyiv-ukraine_02.html. there is a 20 minue clip there with footage of: saakashvili, yushchenko, tymoshenko, and moroz all speaking on independence square, followed by oleksandr ponomarov singing the national anthem. then there is footage of green jolly performing their song that became the anthem of the orange revolution (i.e., "razom nas bahato, nas ne podylaty (together we are many, we won't be overcome)" and after them is footage of the superstar group tartak rocking the crowd. then comes some footage of the tent camp and the folk dancing you have already seen here. enjoy! z novym rokom!

Earl's Court, London: 20 February 2008.What a night for fans of British music. Dozens of top artists filed past on the red carpet outside Earls Court on yet another freezing day. Quite a challenge for fans too. There were few good shooting positions and plenty of competition for them. Some of my regular fan-mates couldn't run fast enough to get a good spot when the gates opened. It was bedlam. One girl fell in front of me and it seemed unseemly to step over her and my prime place was gone. Fortunately security made sure unaccredited media were chucked out, leaving me with an OK spot on the barricade. Things have a habit of working themselves out. Lots of kids and their parents in the crowd that all added to the atmosphere -- it's half term btw. Plenty screaming from them, it seems they love all the stars and aren't self conscious about saying it loud. Listen to the sound if you need confirmation. Seemed odd to hear primary school kids discussing rehab, and not the song! Plenty of opportunity for the autograph folk, though many of the biggest names snuck in around the back to avoid the hubbub.Celebs and artists spotted...Matt WillisKyser ChiefsAdeleBeth DittoOne Night OnlyLeona LewisWill YoungNancy and Vic ReevesMikaMark RonsonRihannaShane WardThe HoossiersBen MillerAlan CarrLamarDavina McCallSean LennonK T TunstallArtic MonkeysCatherine JenkinsOzzy, Sharon OsbourneKate NashAlesha DixonKelly RowlandKimberley WalshSarah HardingJames BluntTess DalyVernon KayTake ThatAs usual, please let me know about errors, omissions and your comments. Using archived stock footage, I tried to paint a picture of the tranquility of everyday life being interrupted by chaotic events such as war. Majority of the war stock footage is from Iwo Jima documentation and the city footage comes from various sources, all recorded within the 1930s to 1940s.The song, which is a re-interpreted mix done by myself can be downloaded at the link at the end of this description. It's part of an experimental re-mix project I conducted where I tried to completely re-imagine the way songs (in this case, Nine Inch Nails' "Year Zero") sounded. You can download the album, "Year of Redemption: Year Zero Re-Imagined" here:http://www.keatonhashimoto.com/music/nin/

Thought I would upload a little more footage from The Movie Waterloo concerning The Duchess of Richmond's Ball of 15-06-1815It appears no You Tuber has an inkling as to the pieces played at Her Grace's Ball ?Below is a cut & paste from an earlier video regarding this matter : -This footage comes from the very historically accurate "Waterloo." {Although there is the odd historical blemish, it is still highly factual} The question is what is the piece called as the Ladies & Officers Etc. danced the night away at The Duchess of Richmond's Ball ?I may say it myself, but one does feel a bit of an expert in the finery of Battle Tactics regarding Waterloo, but can not place this wonderful piece, I even asked on Talk Back Radio a number of years ago after playing it down the line, but alas no following callers knew, as for any other goings ons at Her Grace's Ball that night, one should not take as read certain accounts, although I would fancy they would not be too far from what went on. It is the outcome of The Battle that changed European & indeed World History that interests an old reprobate such as I Lol. But one would give anything to have been a lad at that Ball on that night....dancing the night away before battle, those were the days !

Incredible video of the Late Great Hank Williams and His Son Bocephus (Hank Jr) A few years ago Hank was given this song in his Dad's folders, a song that was still in a demo stage. Hank liked it and mixed alittle of his style with his Dads and helped in producing this magical, award winning video!!!According to Wikpedia:"There's a Tear in My Beer", a duet with his father created using electronic dubbing techniques. The song itself was written by his father, presumably, sometime between 1950 and 1953 and was recorded with Hank Williams playing just his guitar. The music video for the song combined existing television footage of Hank Williams performing and the dubbing techniques transferred the image of Hank Jr. onto the screen, so it appeared as if he were actually playing with his father. The video was an overwhelming success, both critically and commercially. It was named Video Of The Year by both the Country Music Association and the Academy of Country music. Hank Williams, Jr. would go on to win a Grammy award in 1990 for Best Country Vocal Collaboration.___________________Thanks go to ritchey65 for the following info:Hank Sr. recorded this song as a demo on an acetate disc for country performer Big Bill Lister and gave it to him around 1950. It lay forgotten and unknown until Lister's son found it in 1988.He gave it to Hank Jr, who recorded his own version and mixed it with the Hank Sr. version. The Lyrics, Video, Audio, are the property of the respective authors, artists and labels, the video provided for educational and Artist promotional purposes only , If you like the song, please help support Elvis Presley's music by purchasing his CD's wherever they are legally for sale..Rhodescabbin claims no ownership rights to this Video/Audio. Here's another music video I produced for the superb 'Back in Time Live' retro events. This video features footage from various Commodore 64 games including classics like Koronis Rift (I love the animation of the robot!), Bounder, Parallax, Salamander, Giana Sisters and many more. The video is backed by a superb remix of Martin Galway's Ocean Loading Theme (remixed by Sonic Wanderer). This video is also available on the Back in Time Live Showreel DVD (with much better picture quality) - http://www.binaryzone.org/ (it's in the retro DVD section!)
