Assistance is also provided to students with music related expenses through grants, fundraisers and silent auctions that aid in developing, displaying and nurturing young artistic talents. The Punch Family Foundation is an organization that seeks to open a window of opportunity for under-represented children through music and music education. She also knew she could gain support from her mentor Mary Griffin and from the Punch Family Foundation (PFF).Stamos Martin, like Georgiana, was a Booker T. Washington high school student, and while he was excited about his acceptance to the Aspen Music Festival, he knew the $7,000 price tag would be a major hurdle. He called upon a small support team that included Gayle Punch of the Punch Family Foundation.Georgiana is now a sophomore student at Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina and aspires to attend the Harlaxton Music Festival (HMF) in Harlaxton, England. The $4,000 tuition does not include an additional $800 for airfare. On her own, Georgiana has managed to save $1,000 towards this trip. Unfortunately, the HMF offers no scholarships. Georgiana, a violist, is a sophomore music business major and former student of the Young Strings Program of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.Stamos and Georgiana each received $1,000 scholarships from the PFF to help with their music education -- scholarships they both attest have made all the difference in their access and entry to these institutions. The experience of having a musician pursue a goal of being in a symphony orchestra taught PFF founder, Gayle Punch, many lessons. The greatest was the importance of giving back. In 2006, the Foundation was able to give a $1,000 to Byron Martin who now studies the viola and music composition at an Oklahoma College. This year's challenge is to raise funds to assist music students like Stamos and Georgiana reach their potential. While most music programs offer scholarships, there are often additional costs which are not covered. These additional costs are often the prime roadblocks to economically limited minority students."It's important to help as many music students as possible if we are to see diversity in the orchestral programs across America," says Richmond Punch. Richmond is a violist and violinist who donates proceeds from all CD sales to the foundation (these can be purchased at the foundation website). He also donates his services to the annual benefit recital.Contact: richmond@richmondpunch.comAlso read the event I created with the location info and more specifics. Thanks!!

On Death Anniversary of Nisar Bazmi. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaNisar Bazmi Birth name Syed Nisar Ahmed Born 1 January 1924(1924-01-01) Origin Pakistani Died 22 March 2007 (aged 83) Genre(s) Contemporary instrumental Occupation(s) Composer & music director Years active 1944--2007 Nisar Bazmi (1924 -- March 22, 2007) was a respected music composer of the Sub-continent from Pakistan. Nisar Bazmi was responsible for introducing Alamgir to film music in Pakistan and the famous duo of Laxmikant-Piyarelal were musicians with him before the partition of South Asia. He was born in 1924 in Khandesh, Naseerabad, India . His father was Syed Qudrat Ali. He had no musical background. Nisar Bazmi's musical interest impressed the prominent Indian musician of Bombay, Khan Saheb Aman Ali Khan who taught him music. Equipped with artistic talent, young Nisar Bazmi, who was just 13 at the time, quickly mastered the various ragas, the musical instruments and took all music lessons to heart. In 1939, the All India Radio (A.I.R) hired him as an artist, which later proved to be a stepping stone for his future aspirations. The magic moment came in the year 1944 when he composed some songs for a drama, Nadir Shah Durrani, which was broadcast from the Bombay Radio Station. All the songs of this drama were hits. A new Indian film producer at that time was moved by Nisar Bazmi's composition and asked him to compose music for his film Jamna Par. After that he enjoyed a successful career in India, composing music for almost 40 flims, with 14 films released after he migrated to Pakistan on June 21, 1962. Once permanently settled in Pakistan, he resumed his music career by simultaneously composing songs for two movies. Director Raza Mir's movie Lakhoan Mein Aik's mega hit songs extol the virtues of Nisar's top rated composition.During his musical career in Pakistan he composed many hit songs for Runa Laila, Ahmed Rushdi, Noor Jehan and Mehdi Hassan. Guys... I felt there's a missing piece in my Final Version and I added the missing part. I felt that my final version focused too much on fighting and kinda neglected the important piece that at least for me, represent the heart and soul (or you say the spirit) of this movie ^_^... so this is the real Final Version !!! It has been an honor to make music video for 300, one of my favorites... Hope you enjoy ^_^... This is my final version for 300 Spartan Legacy MV... (some improvements on clip quality + some added scenes...) This is a tribute to Movie 300 and those real heroes who died back in the Battle of Thermopylae around 480 BC. PLEASE!!! I made this MV for personal hobby to show respect to those who sacrificed in the war... Hope history teach us valuable lessons and peace among all nations and races from now... Enjoy ^_^... (I put Alexander at the end because I think the Battle of Thermopylae gave the Greek a chance to regroup and eventually led to the offensive against Persia led by Alexander the Great...)I've notice that lots of people are asking the name of music being used ^_^... below are all the music being used by order...1.最后的倾诉 (Chinese song)2.Returns a King3.Lacrimosa (Chorus version)4.Lord of the Rings - Requiem for a Dream5.Fahrenheit (Chorus version)6.Imperativa (Chorus version)7.Ultimatum (Chorus version)8.Returns a King9.A Gift of a ThistleThanks guys for all your support... I accept all critics because that's what make my MV better... PS: Please!!! no swearing or discriminative political views... otherwise... I will delete them... the world need peace not hatred...
