Based in Los Angeles, The Lian Ensemble (http://www.lianrecords.com) is a group of virtuoso performers and composers. Their powerful compositions fuse the Mystical Persian musical heritage with the contemporary sensibilities of postmodern Jazz. Combining a unique musical vision with dauntless dedication to experimentation, they create a synthesis of mystical world music composed of traditional and folk melodies and instruments. Their "Brilliance " has been praised by John Schneider of KPFK radio. The Lian is comprised of world-renowned musicians whose diverse and uniquely versatile musical styles lend to this rare blend of Mystical world music. Lian's music flows effortlessly between a diverse range of styles and traditions, while fearlessly forging a path and sound that is all their own. Los Angeles Times writes, "The Lian Ensemble's music-original compositions written and improvised in class on its own terms". After much collaboration, the musicians have acquired the requisite knowledge of Persian music, and each adds their own distinctive rhythmic sounds to compositions, creating an exciting mix of melodies that go beyond the stylistic boundaries. In performance, Lian's ever evolving repertoire of creative original music is expanded, rearranged, and examined with exploratory eyes at each and every concert. Los Angeles Times (Don Heckman) writes," Lian ensemble is a gifted group with completive compositions and virtuosic performances".

Nisar Bazmi was responsible for introducing Alamgir to film music in Pakistan and the famous duo of Laxmikant-Piyarelal were musicians with him before the partition of South Asia. He was born in 1924 in Khandesh, Naseerabad, India . His father was Syed Qudrat Ali. He had no musical background. Nisar Bazmi's musical interest impressed the prominent Indian musician of Bombay, Khan Saheb Aman Ali Khan who taught him music. Equipped with artistic talent, young Nisar Bazmi, who was just 13 at the time, quickly mastered the various ragas, the musical instruments and took all music lessons to heart. In 1939, the All India Radio (A.I.R) hired him as an artist, which later proved to be a stepping stone for his future aspirations. The magic moment came in the year 1944 when he composed some songs for a drama, Nadir Shah Durrani, which was broadcast from the Bombay Radio Station. All the songs of this drama were hits. A new Indian film producer at that time was moved by Nisar Bazmi's composition and asked him to compose music for his film Jamna Par. Frederick Hohman plays Tu es Petra (Thou Art the Rock) from the Byzantine Sketches of Henri Mulet upon the Great Organ of Methuen Memorial Music Hall, in Methuen Massachusetts USA. This is an excerpt from a concert given on 29 September 1996. The complete 30-minute program is one episode from the Midnight Pipes tv series. The DVD product of this is item # MP 9021 DVD, and may be acquired from many sources, including http://www.zarex.com/bin .Frederick Hohman also has a CD from Methuen on the PRO ORGANO label, entitled "Forever Methuen." Details may be accessed by entering "7066" in the Search Box at http://www.zarex.com/bin .Methuen Memorial Music Hall is operated and maintained by a not-for-profit corporation. Music events occur at the hall year-round, but especially well-known are the summer series of Organ Concerts on Wednesday evenings. This video is from one of the rarer, Sunday afternoon organ concerts. There is a history and an interesting story behind the organ at Methuen. Originally a Walcker organ from Germany from the mid-19th-century, it was first installed as the organ at Boston Music Hall, and it was the first concert hall organ in the United States. In the early 20th-century this hall was constructed in what was then a rural suburb of Boston, and the organ was relocated and housed at Methuen Memorial Music Hall ever since. The organ was updated and enlarged by Aeolian-Skinner, and in recent years, additional updates and fine maintenance make it function today as a fully modern concert pipe organ. As you will see from the video, the organ at Methuen has one of the most impressive organ cases in the world, and the decorative appointments of the hall interior are noteworthy. For more details on the organ and hall, contact: http://www.mmmh.org .Frederick Hohman is returning to Methuen in September, 2008 to play another organ concert. Hohman's website is: http://www.frederickhohman.net

http://manhopark.deviantart.comBio: I am currently enrolled in school going for a bachelor's degree in game development.I love drawing so please do not hesitate to take a look at my deviant art page above! Yes, I do love piano, but I will not post any more videos. I know if I post poor quality videos, many people will start bashing away with criticism. So there is no more reason to put any more recordings up. However this does not mean I have quit playing piano, I still play once in awhile for my own enjoyment. The thing is I have not quit yet =]Note from author: There's one reason why I continue to play piano and that is to enjoy myself. Yes, I know that sounds a tad rash, but hey its the truth. The point is I am not a professional. Of course I take some criticism seriously but not now for that I am busy with many other things =]--------------------------------------------Stop with the racism. My skills have nothing to do with race, rather, daily habits. Matter in fact, I can base it on several factors on how I allocate my time.1. I am currently jobless2. I do not have a gf3. I rarely go out to play with other people4. I focus strictly on developing my talents5. My life is often the internet6. That is what makes me happy. Now, that I have went over my life, I hope you all can agree that I am some psychotic human being that is rampant on the internet. Once again it has nothing to do with race^^.

Dionne Warwick's Love at First Sight, a 1977 album released on the Warner Brothers Label yielded the single of the same name. The tune was written by Chris Rae, Gary Shury, Ron Roker, and R. McDonald. The tune failed to chart nationally but received airplay in North and South Carolina, Georgia and Virginia and is considered a beach music classic among Atlantic surfers. The tune was also featured on the Rhino anthology "Rare Beach Music Classics" from 1989. The tune features a killer introduction and a grooving track and should have been a hit. With the release of this album, Dionne completed her contractual obligation to Warner Brothers Records. Dionne Warwick was planning to quit the music industry entirely and use her music education skills to teach on the university level. Dionne had completed her Masters Degree from the Hartt College of Music and in 1989 she completed her studies at Hartt which led to a doctorate in Music Education. Dr. Dionne Warwick did a series of lectures on popular music in the 1990s at Harvard and several other Universities in the USA. In 1978, Clive Davis told Dionne "You may be ready to give up the music business, but the business is not ready to give you up." She would soon sign with Davis' Arista Records and would enjoy one of the biggest comebacks in the history of popular music.

Rare MTV news clip that aired in 1996 the day that Tupac was pronounced dead. Chronicles 2Pac's hip-hop career: a strange, terrible and beautiful saga. 2Pac is the greatest of all time... Rest in peace Tupac Amaru Shakur - you are missed.Tupac Amaru Shakur (June 16, 1971 -- September 13, 1996), also known by his stage names: 2Pac, Makaveli, or simply Pac, was an American artist renowned for his rap music, movie roles, poetry, and his social activism. He is recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records as the best selling hip-hop artist, with over seventy-five million albums sold worldwide including over fifty million in the United States alone. Most of Shakur's songs are about growing up around violence and hardship in ghettos, racism, problems in society, and sometimes qualms with other fellow rappers. Shakur's work is known for advocating political, economic, social, and racial equality as well as his raw descriptions of violence, drug and alcohol abuse, and conflicts with the law. Many fans, critics, and industry insiders rank him as the greatest rapper ever.In 1990, Shakur was a roadie and backup dancer for the alternative rap group Digital Underground. Shakur's debut album, 2Pacalypse Now, gained critical recognition and backlash for its controversial lyrics. Shakur became the target of lawsuits and experienced other legal problems. Later, Shakur was shot five times in a recording studio lobby in Manhattan and was robbed. Following the incident, Shakur grew suspicious that other figures in the rap industry had prior knowledge of the shooting and did not warn him; the controversy would help spark the East Coast-West Coast hip hop rivalry. After serving eleven months of his sentence, Shakur was released from prison on an appeal financed by Marion "Suge" Knight, the CEO of Death Row Records. In exchange for Suge's assistance, Shakur agreed to release three records under the Death Row label. Shakur's fifth album, the first double-disc release in hip hop history All Eyez on Me, counted as two albums. On September 7, 1996, Shakur was shot four times in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada, and died six days later of respiratory failure and cardiac arrest at University Medical Center, Las Vegas.Shakur's work has influenced many modern rap artists. Eminem, Nas, Lloyd Banks, Rick Ross, Ja Rule, The Game, and 50 Cent all acknowledge his influence on their work. The likes of Snoop Dogg, Diddy, Pharrell, Ghostface Killa, Lil' Scrappy, DMX, Lil' Jon, Mary J. Blige, Juvenile, Outkast, Jermaine Dupri, WC, Sean Paul, Ice Cube, Missy Elliot, Mike Tyson and Nelly have all named songs by Shakur that they personally enjoyed.Studio albums1991: 2Pacalypse Now 1993: Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. 1994: Thug Life: Volume 1 1995: Me Against the World 1996: All Eyez on Me 1996: The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day TheoryPosthumous studio albums1997: R U Still Down? Elvis Presley, sings If I can dream, a song with a dream of hope. This song has powerful lyrics and Raw Emotion Vocals that are awe inspiring!!!Elvis is still The King Of Rock N Roll 30 years after his death!!! Elvis will always be the King. From the very moment I heard on that hot August day in 1977 that Elvis was dead I have had an idea in my head to pay tribute to his many achievements.Elvis was so much more that a singer, he was a living Legend.Elvis: He dreamed, and he achieved!!! Sun Studios, Memphis 1954,Elvis Presley n Johnny Cash meet in this small studio at the same time, and Both become Legends!!!Elvis Presley is the primary focus, yet I had to include Johnny as I find it amazing that these two showed up at the same place, same time...Johnny overcame his addictions,BUT as he pointed out many times, only the love of June Carter Cash and her determination to see him thru, saved him from drugs. I wish Elvis could have had the same Rock in his life. One friend said something that was food for thought-Could you ever imagine an old Elvis??? I know Elvis thought of it a lot and the drugs were clouding his judgment. Its always hard to watch his last concert knowing his heart was agonized over the Memphis Mafia writing that horrible book about him, and seeing his failing health.RIP Elvis!!!The Lyrics, Video, Audio, are the property of the respective authors, artists and labels, the video provided for educational and Artist promotional purposes only , If you like the song, please help support Elvis Presley's music by purchasing his CD's wherever they are legally for sale..Rhodescabbin claims no ownership rights to this Video/Audio.
