Pantera was an American heavy metal band from Arlington, Texas, that formed in 1981.[1] Although initially influenced by 1980s glam metal/hard rock bands, thrash metal acts such as Slayer and Metallica as well as traditional metal bands such as Black Sabbath would prove to be influential in the band's significant change in musical direction at the end of the 1980s. From there, Pantera became a key formulator of the groove metal (post-thrash) subgenre of heavy metal music. It would not be until nine years after forming that Pantera saw its first piece of commercial success in its major label debut, Cowboys from Hell. From there, Pantera became one of the most celebrated heavy metal bands of the 1990s. Despite the generally cold reception of the band's first four albums, critics have lauded Pantera's style thereafter; Jason Birchmeier of the All Music Guide considers Pantera to be "arguably the greatest metal band of '90s and ... one of the greatest and most influential metal bands ever."[2] The band has received accolades such as ranking 45 on VH1's list of the 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock[3] and fifth on MTV's "Top 10 Greatest Heavy Metal Bands of All-Time".[4]Due to long-standing internal conflicts, Pantera dissolved in 2003. The following year, the band's guitarist, "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, was shot and killed on-stage while performing with his new band, Damageplan.Philip Hansen Anselmo (born June 30, 1968 in New Orleans, Louisiana) is a heavy metal vocalist and musician, currently performing with Down. He is best known as a vocalist, lyricist and co-composer for Pantera, but has been involved with numerous other musical projects in heavy metal.Rex Robert Brown (born July 27, 1964 in Graham, Texas) is a bassist, best known for his work with the American heavy metal band Pantera from the time the band formed in the early 80's until its dissolution in 2003. Along with former Pantera vocalist Phil Anselmo, he subsequently joined Down to replace bassist Todd Strange, and most recently played bass on the Crowbar album, Lifesblood for the Downtrodden. During the early days of Pantera Rex Brown went by the stage name Rex Rocker. It wasn't until Far Beyond Driven that both Rex Brown and Dimebag Darrell changed their stage names. Rex dropped Rex Rocker and was just credited from then on as Rex Brown and Diamond Darell was changed to Dimebag Darrell.Vinnie Paul (Vincent Paul Abbott) (born on March 11, 1964), in Dallas, Texas, United States is a heavy metal drummer and producer most known for his work in Pantera and Damageplan.Paul also incorporates elements of progressive rock and swing into his drumming. [citation needed]Paul is the son of Carolina Abbot and Jerry Abbott, a country music songwriter and producer. He played in Pantera, Tres Diablos, Damageplan, and Rebel Meets Rebel with his brother, late guitarist Dimebag Darrell. His professional musical relationship with his brother often earned them comparisons to hard rock musicians Eddie and Alex Van Halen. Currently, Paul, along with members from Mudvayne and Nothingface, have formed the supergroup - Hellyeah. His biggest influence is Peter Criss of KISSDimebag Darrell (born Darrell Lance Abbott on August 20, 1966, Arlington, Texas -- December 8, 2004, Columbus, Ohio), also known as Diamond Darrell until mid 1992, was the lead guitarist for the heavy metal bands Pantera, Damageplan and Rebel Meets Rebel.

The Twinwoods Mechanical Organ Festival is a weekend event held at the historic Twinwoods Airfield near Bedford (UK), also home of the Glenn Miller Museum. Organised by Bob West, the Twinwoods Arena comes alive to the sound of street and fairground organs during the festival, which also features crafts and other exhibits, and marks the closure of events at Twinwoods for the winter. For the 2007 show, the third year of this wonderful event, the Saturday night entertainment amongst this small and friendly gathering of enthusiasts comprised some informal performances of mechanical self-playing street organs and an impromptue accordion band inside the main hangar. After this, those of us still awake retired to the Officers' Mess Bar to continue the fun! This video shows some of the completely unrehursed session with Bob West on his street organ with myself and Andrew Smith playing along on our piano accordions, accompanied with percussion from James Dundon and Alan Roberts.Photos from the festival, together with lots of information regarding mechanical organs in general can be found on the independent Mechanical Organ Discussion Forum, a free to join internet forum for Street, Fairground and Dance Organ enthusiasts worldwide... http://www.fairgroundorgan.com/forum (specific topic here: http://organ.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?p=5339)More videos from this superb event are on my channel, and don't forget next year's organ festival on 11th and 12th October 2008.

It's the most anticipated release of the girl's career, with the UK's music press affirming the song as the example of unadulterated pop ecstasy proving that the ladies are more than just amazing vocalists and silencing the critics who thought they only did covers. The year of 2007 can only be described as extraordinary for Nadia Shepherd and Cherise Roberts, AKA Booty Luv. Following up last year's number two hit 'Boogie 2Nite', which stayed in the Top 10 for eight weeks, the girls released their second single 'Shine', which followed its predecessor into the top ten. September's 'Don't Mess With My Man' became the ladies third hit single, taking over Radio One's A -list, topping the national club charts and receiving rave reviews from pop aficionados around the country. The album, 'Boogie 2Nite', appeared in record stores this September and immediately became Hed Kandi's most successful artist album of all time and has already gone Silver. Six months in the making, the record is an amalgam of house grooves, discotheque rapture and serious attitude. Nadia says: "Some Kinda Rush is a real favourite of ours. As soon as we wrote and recorded it we knew it had to be a single."Cherise adds: "It's a feel good track that really gets you moving. It's received an amazing audience reaction when we've played it live at our gigs".Winter 2007 will see the Booty Luv ladies hit the live circuit, playing a series of totally live gigs with a full band. Critics and public alike have so far been astounded by the ladies vocal abilities and true showmanship.'Some Kinda Rush' brings 2007 to a exhilarating close for the Booty Luv ladies. Expect 2008 to be just as joyous.
