The Woodstock Music and Art Fair was a historic event held at Max Yasgur's 600 acre dairy farm in the rural town of Bethel, New York from August 15 to August 18, 1969.To many, the festival exemplified the counterculture of the 1960s and the 'hippie era'. Thirty-two of the best-known musicians of the day appeared during the sometimes rainy weekend. Although attempts have been made over the years to recreate the festival, the original event has proven to be unique and legendary. It is widely regarded as one of the greatest moments in music history and was listed on Rolling Stone's 50 Moments That Changed the History of Rock and Roll. The event was captured in a successful 1970 documentary, Woodstock (subtitled '3 Days of Peace & Music'), directed by Michael Wadleigh._______________________Part 11. Sunday, August 17, 1969. The third day, after Joe Cocker's set, a storm disrupted the events for several hours. The rock/folk band Country Joe and the Fish resumed the concert around 6 pm. Earl's Court, London: 20 February 2008.What a night for fans of British music. Dozens of top artists filed past on the red carpet outside Earls Court on yet another freezing day. Quite a challenge for fans too. There were few good shooting positions and plenty of competition for them. Some of my regular fan-mates couldn't run fast enough to get a good spot when the gates opened. It was bedlam. One girl fell in front of me and it seemed unseemly to step over her and my prime place was gone. Fortunately security made sure unaccredited media were chucked out, leaving me with an OK spot on the barricade. Things have a habit of working themselves out. Lots of kids and their parents in the crowd that all added to the atmosphere -- it's half term btw. Plenty screaming from them, it seems they love all the stars and aren't self conscious about saying it loud. Listen to the sound if you need confirmation. Seemed odd to hear primary school kids discussing rehab, and not the song! Plenty of opportunity for the autograph folk, though many of the biggest names snuck in around the back to avoid the hubbub.Celebs and artists spotted...Matt WillisKyser ChiefsAdeleBeth DittoOne Night OnlyLeona LewisWill YoungNancy and Vic ReevesMikaMark RonsonRihannaShane WardThe HoossiersBen MillerAlan CarrLamarDavina McCallSean LennonK T TunstallArtic MonkeysCatherine JenkinsOzzy, Sharon OsbourneKate NashAlesha DixonKelly RowlandKimberley WalshSarah HardingJames BluntTess DalyVernon KayTake ThatAs usual, please let me know about errors, omissions and your comments. Yep, it's another one of those "tagged" videos! You get tagged, you make a video with 5 facts about yourself and tag 5 others...the chain continues! To my knowledge, I was tagged by the following people: LazyWorkCreations, Quadraxis14 and RE4lover, all cool people. I hope I didn't leave anybody out! So now I'm tagging (randomly and in no particular order) animelonewolf, chocobosoliddiegui, Livinglifex, Dragonheart999, and TheTNC420, also all cool people. Just got my laptop working again a few weeks ago thanks to my friend Andrew (THANK YOU!), and I just found out about this tag thing, so here it is! I hope it isn't too boring because I'm planning to put out my first (and last?) Q&A/FAQ video very soon to see how it goes. I'm getting started on a new video game review that I hope to have out ASAP! Just wanted to let everyone know I'm not dead, and I have no plans to stop! Thank you for watching! Track credits (track, then artist) are as follows: Opening track by me (myspace.com/destructure047), Zero Wing intro (obviously), hidden track on "Classixxx" by Bogdan Raczynski, "Trailer Music" Pizzicato 5 remix by 808 State, 3 tracks by me, Metroid intro, Kid Icarus underworld, "Sayonara Tsutara" by Bogdan Raczynski, "Untitled13" off of "Boku Mo Wakaran" by Bogdan Raczynski. If you like any of this music please obtain a legal copy on Rephlex.com, itunes, amazon.com etc. Support awesome music! Thanks to my parents, Andrew, Reyes and the people who tagged me, my subscribers and YOU the view for watching! Peace

She also knew she could gain support from her mentor Mary Griffin and from the Punch Family Foundation (PFF).Stamos Martin, like Georgiana, was a Booker T. Washington high school student, and while he was excited about his acceptance to the Aspen Music Festival, he knew the $7,000 price tag would be a major hurdle. He called upon a small support team that included Gayle Punch of the Punch Family Foundation.Georgiana is now a sophomore student at Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina and aspires to attend the Harlaxton Music Festival (HMF) in Harlaxton, England. The $4,000 tuition does not include an additional $800 for airfare. On her own, Georgiana has managed to save $1,000 towards this trip. Unfortunately, the HMF offers no scholarships. Georgiana, a violist, is a sophomore music business major and former student of the Young Strings Program of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.Stamos and Georgiana each received $1,000 scholarships from the PFF to help with their music education -- scholarships they both attest have made all the difference in their access and entry to these institutions. The experience of having a musician pursue a goal of being in a symphony orchestra taught PFF founder, Gayle Punch, many lessons. The greatest was the importance of giving back. In 2006, the Foundation was able to give a $1,000 to Byron Martin who now studies the viola and music composition at an Oklahoma College. This year's challenge is to raise funds to assist music students like Stamos and Georgiana reach their potential. While most music programs offer scholarships, there are often additional costs which are not covered. These additional costs are often the prime roadblocks to economically limited minority students."It's important to help as many music students as possible if we are to see diversity in the orchestral programs across America," says Richmond Punch. Song featured in Sami Yusuf's "My Ummah" album, done with english text of the lyrics.I made this after watching Sami Yusuf and Isam on a concert together performing this song. They pointed out that this song speaks of any troubled children in the world, even if some lyrics explicitly point to the Palestinian struggle. All of the videos on this song that I saw on YouTube represent that particular struggle only. I'd like to return to the concept of the creators of the music, and try to incorporate all of the world's children's suffering-- this is my attempt at it.Please rate it and tell me what you think-- constructive criticism is highly preferred over blind offense, and appreciation is always welcomed. If you want to help, give your time or your earnings to causes you believe in. It's not how much you give, it's that you give. This is my preference charity outlet that I trust, but you can choose your own:www.islamic-relief.com (International)www.irw.org (USA) - recipient of Four Star Charity by Charity NavigatorCorcerning Music and Islam:After searching the quran and found empty on any banning of music, I turn to Hadeeth:Hadeeth Shahih Muslim (excerpts from www.quran.net)Muhammad, peace be upon him allows the enjoyment of singing and musical instruments. Hence, music is not haram.Book 004, Number 1942: " 'A'isha reported: The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) came (in my apartment) while there were two girls with me singing the song of the Battle of Bu'ath. He lay down on the bed and turned away his face. Then came Abu Bakr and he scolded me and said: Oh! this musical instrument of the devil in the house of the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him)! The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) turned towards him and said: Leave them alone. And when he (the Holy Prophet) became unattentive, I hinted them and they went out, and it was the day of 'Id and negroes were playing with shields and speare. (I do not remember) whether I asked the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) or whether he said to me if I desired to see (that sport). I said: Yes. I stood behind him with his face parallel to my face, and he said: O Banu Arfada, be busy (in your sports) till I was satiated. He said (to me): Is that enough? I said: Yes. Upon this he asked me to go."Song/Music are just tools, like talking, that can deliver both good and evil. Talking can do a lot of harm (backbiting, gossiping), but Talking in general isn't haram - only backbiting and gossiping is haram. Music does the same, so why some people want to claim it Haram, when it is only a tool to perform good or evil. Listening to good music is like listening to talks of good and beauty of the creation of Allah, and listening to raunchy music is like listening to gossip. So claim haram to only those music that are lustful and profane, but not all music - especially good music.Book 033, Number 6422: "Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying. Allah fixed the very portion of adultery which a man will indulge in. There would be no escape from it. The adultery of the eye is the lustful look and the adultery of the ears is listening to voluptuous (song or talk) and the adultery of the tongue is licentious speech and the adultery of the hand is the lustful grip (embrace) and the adultery of the feet is to walk (to the place) where he intends to commit adultery and the heart yearns and desires which he may or may not put into effect."King Abdullah claim title "Guardian of two Holy Cities" website reference:"On the death of King Fahd on 1st August, 2005, the title of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques was assumed by King Fahd's successor, King Abdullah." --- is from Ministry of Hajj, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia website:http://www.hajinformation.com/main/d10.htmanother reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Custodian_of_the_Two_Holy_Mosques

MUSIC FROM THE INSIDE OUT is an inspiring look at the power of music as told through the musicians of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Academy Award®-nominated filmmaker Daniel Anker weaves together a remarkable mosaic of the stories, ideas, experiences and music-making that form the heart of these musicians lives, both inside and outside the concert hall. In doing so, we ultimately get the essence of the magic and mystery of music itself. Here's what some critics had to say about the film:"PROFOUND AND MOVING!...uncommonly perceptive and inspiring."-The New York Times "UNFORGETTABLE. Beautiful and utterly ENTRANCING!"-San Francisco Chronicle "EXHILARATING!...required viewing for anyone interested in the mysteries of creative inspiration!"-The New York Daily News"A CAPTIVATING TOUR-DE-FORCE!"-The American Film Institute
